Let's take that new bike to Bullhead City..........

Recommended Posts

A work friend, Doug, picked up a brand spanking new KTM 350. Rigger Dan and I took him out to my Bullhead City place this past weekend......

The usual trails/usual carnage on the way to Oatman (I think that's when he lost his right stock hand deflector from the handlebars)

After breakfast I took the boys over to the wash to see what's left of a Ford Bronco that got caught in a flash flood a couple of years ago.......(I think that's when he lost his left stock hand deflector from the handlebars)

Then over to the beach for a cold post ride brew......

Followed by dinner/pool/sunset/debauchery at Lazy Harry's

I know that hill...the photo does not do the 'difficulty factor' justice! :crying_anim02:

Nice..."one day"...

I led the boys on a ~1.5hr. "introductory" lap on Friday before Sunset......no time to take any pictures........rolled back home in darkness and Doug discovered the lameness of the stock headlights compared the Squadrons that Dan and I both have...........we had planned on riding yesterday morning before packing up/heading home.......but things got a bit out of hand at Lazy's on Sat night (it happens)......minds and bodies were not in "go riding" mode when we woke up Sunday morning.......we opted for sleeping in/mid morning breakfast instead......

Hoping Doug didn't try keeping pace with the stock 350 gearing!

Hoping Doug didn't try keeping pace with the stock 350 gearing!

He has the XCW (13/52) like me NOT the EXC (14/45).......if anything the stock gearing is too low.......first gear is useless.....I told him to just feather the clutch in 2nd for the hill climb and he made it up (eventually)......1st gear had him unable to control the front end/digging a hole with his rear wheel......

I am also familiar with that particular "wrinkle"...

Always a great time on the Bullhead trips...
