kkug 145 Posted October 21, 2014 My first bikepacking trip ! Me and my buddy TC packing smokers to a Mag 7 pit for the Baja 1000. We had luberdyne bottles stuffed all over the place. We started on the point were Pirate,s Cove is now (nothing was their ) and rode to San Juanico where their were only a few shacks. I guess it has changed --I have never been back. Best Trip I have been ever on ( Because it was my first Baja Adventure )
TrophyHunter 15 Posted October 21, 2014 Great pic! I go back through old family bike pics periodically and always surprised at the advancement in equipment and gear. That's a helluva rear sprocket, Ken.

Covered in Dust 162 Posted October 21, 2014 Forget the Husky, look at that mighty Yamaha IT 490. I have the same bike in my garage right now about 80% restored. CiD

kkug 145 Posted October 22, 2014 On a side note I witnessed the most freeky thing I have ever seen on this trip . After the race got done me and Tim rode backwards on the race course to San Ignacio. We passed a few very poor fish camps. In the distance we saw a old car stuck in the sand. As we approched we saw the occupants stagering around the desert. You know just like the Zombie movies or the walking dead. They truely looked like Zombies. They were dirty-Long hair and beards like Jesus Christ- Dark colored -Indians I guess. Blank looks on their faces. We did not stop and got the hell out of their. Our other buddys said they were on Peyote . Probley so - I never want to see that again.
