tntmo 887 Posted January 22, 2015 Sell everything in your garage and buy two of these new Yamaha's. Then you are covered if one breaks and you have a buddy bike. Accessories can switch from bike to bike. Do it!
Goofy Footer 539 Posted January 22, 2015 Sell everything in your garage and buy two of these new Yamaha's. Then you are covered if one breaks and you have a buddy bike. Accessories can switch from bike to bike. Do it! Well I have two Yamahas, I'm just a decade behind! Damn you Marketing Department! The new motor changed from a dry sump to wet sump and has a lower oil capacity compared to previous models 1100ml on the WR while my WR250 has 1400ml and the piston is now 2-ring instead of 3-ring like prior. PastaPilot 17 Posted January 24, 2015 I'm definetely sold on the engine design. For reasons of here of simplicity of maintenance. Placing the air filter inlets within the radiator shrouds brings in fresh clean air for the engine. I just put 25 hours of use on a filter, of which included a race, and pulling my filter today it looked like I could've done another 25 hours, easily. I abhor filter maintenance so as long as Yamaha continues with this engine design I have one less reason to ever own a bike with a "conventional" engine design again. Bravo Yamaha for going backwards!
