Camping at the top of Laguna Mountain

Rode out fairly late on Saturday evening. Things got rather chilly overnight, but we have survived!

I think we have hit the magic hour on Saturday during the sunset, clouds were very low over our heads, moving fast. Light was perfect.

Headed out next morning around 9am and headed back to town around noon on Sunday. Explored a bit of new trails. I bumped and punctured my pannier going between two rocks...Gavin saved the day by getting off his bike and keeping me upright. If he did not do that I would have went head first into a small ravine. Thanks for the awesome save!

where did you guys sleep? on the ground? or on a pad ?

i want to start camping next to my bike ..sick i know...but im curious how you did it .. in a campground or just out in the wild? ..

after my son flys the coop i am going to go on longer rides and sleep next to my iron horse ..i see the bikebin the back drop.. is that where you guys held up?

Like the pictures. Been their done that with the bags one time. Moved to the Giant Loop if I am going off road.

Their are a lot of bike campers here on SDAR.Its like herding cats to get a ride going .But we try to do it a few times a year.

I have one spot on the Laguna mountain on my list (and Map) to try Camping in my older age again and get ready for a 3-6 month camping trip. Like to go out later this year or begin next year. Let me know if we can get 3-4 bikes together.

Camping configuration was two in a tent (on pads), one on the ground (on a pad), in an established campsite. Achilles heel was necessity to have fire ring to cook huge steak otherwise, we probably would've been out by ourselves.
