Need a support crew member for the Baja Rally Moto

Recommended Posts

I'm at C&D picking up my 690 and Andy Grider is there, asked me about some GPS mounts and off they went. Didn't recognize him at the time, super nice guy.

There needs to be so much more of this type of post race hype. They really dropped the ball on it. Who cares if there was some racing drama...isn't there always? Sell the sizzle, I say! Otherwise it will be much harder to recruit participants next year.

Thanks for sharing, Timoteo.

Don't be scurred, Baja is safe for motos. This event was actually super safe and clean. No issues whatsoever with security, all trucks (including mine) that stayed at the hotel in Ensenada (San Nicolas) were placed in a fenced lot with 24hr security officer. There was always fresh bottled water and cooked meals at the night camps/hotels and bivouac. There were showers every night (hotels) and even a temporary one at Coco's Corner. Team support vehicles were all labeled with a sticker across the windshield and some people caravanned together. Some guys had their wives driving the chase truck solo and there were no issues. Two support team guys came from Hawaii and mobbed around Baja in their church rental van and threw their rally bike in the back when they weren't riding!

Think of the East Coast guys who have to ship/drive their bikes out! The cost, time and logistics of that is a big hinderance. We are lucky to have Baja just south of us. Feel free to jump on any Baja ride I go on, I dont' take unneeded risks and you'll have a good time. Knowing some Espanol is a big help. If you can bring a riding buddy who is fluent you are primo!

No problem, I'll post more when I see new pics/vids/info!

And nobody worth mentioning attended this event this year

At a minimal 2/3rds of that statement is clearly not true. The other 1/3rd is also highly questionable.

Mas Video! Watch in HD if you can.

Random video of some racers passing by made by a support team member while escorting photog Nishant Verma (see his pics in previous posts - he flew from New Delhi!) around Baja in his trick prerunner. They had a good time cruising and taking pics.

This video has a few commericals in it and is in Espanol but it interviews a big behind the scenes Baja Rally support team member from Ensenada.
