I would add some photos, but I have no idea how to make it happen on the new forum setup.

Testing photo uploader. Works fine for me.

Pic from earlier this year in the hills near Idyllwild. Brothers-in-law and our bikes...2 426's and a 250.

No idea why I can't use the BBCode on Flickr like I used to do. Was easy, just copy/paste and the photo showed up. Now for some reason I can't paste it into the text body here? Every time I use the paste option, it just shows up blank.

Test of photo uploader.

I had a really good time running this years Dash in reverse. I was pretty disappointed with the grading of Fairchild hill but other than that it was great. Thanks to all the other Volunteers who make this event run smoothly. Excellent food...Tracy the supreme taco chef was slinging them out faster than you could eat them. It is always nice to meet new friends and talk to old. I was inspired by Paul Bowers picture in Borrego Springs a while back so I ripped off his idea. Next year cannot come soon enough!!!

Great time as always, working and riding...the warmest desert dash of the 5 I've attended....but the best part of the dash is always the time spent with friends, eating, drinking, cooking, joking, sitting around the fire..thanks to all the volunteers for a great weekend ..I think we should do a second club ride in the fall.....just so we can hang out more often....

Thanks to all the volunteers for this years Desert Dash. That had to be one of my top 5 'good times' weekends ever (maybe I don't get out much), but it was a blast.

I found the photo uploader through the 'More Reply Options' button. It's now working again for me.

Had a great time at the Dash - I would like to thank all that made it possible, including all the volunteers and sponsors. I heard that there were a few crashes... wishing the best to anyone injured and a big thanks to the EMT's for running all over assisting.

Rode the entire Dash - everything Randy had on the GPS. It was very quiet out there... no radio traffic and I saw very few bikes... beautiful weather for the ride.

Still trying to get the photos to attached

Sunday, coming back to Butterfield Campground, heading down Santiago... just past a little cider block bldg... there was a couple of whoop that send me for a huge ride... fun, if you saw it coming, hopefully no got caught off guard there.

I think it was a great Dash. I did not get a chance to ride but I had a blast hanging out with the great volunteers and members of SDAR.

Thanks to Randy for putting the event on. Thanks to all the great volunteers who made it such an fun and organized event.

The food was great. Tracy cooked his butt off. Sat dinner was good. Brown bag lunch stop Sun was a big hit.

Huge shout out for all the sponsers that donated so many great products for the Sat night raffle.

It is always nice to meet so many people from other places that come down to enjoy this event. As usual everyone was very respectfull of all the places they went.

Awesome event as usual.

Took very few pictures during the ride this year as I only had a cell phone this time. Great ride with only one minor casualty and 4 tube replacements on three (front) tires.

Unfortunately, no carnage pics this year....

I'll try again. I had a group of four....my son Aaron, my buddy Paul and my neighbor Justin. Here we all are at the start.

On the first section, Justin lost his master link a couple miles from the finish. Someone riding by gave him a spare and he had it back together pretty quick. Here's my son at the end of section one.

During section two, Justin came around a corner and ended up with his front wheel in a rut. The resulting crash caused his left knee to go kaput, so he was out for the weekend. Eddie was following us, he jumped right in and made phone calls, coordinated pick up of Justin and his bike and also gave him a ride to the hospital. Well done, beers are on us! Here's what dejection looks like.

We went on as a team of three. Here's Aaron before lunch.

Even got one of me.

All good after gas in Ocotillo, here we are by the railroad tracks.

Shortly after this, my son hit a rock in the middle of a wash. He did a front flip and got banged up a bit. He did more damage to mom's bike than he did to himself, but everything was operational. We took the road home and had to skip the last section of dirt.

That left Paul and I to complete day two.

All good after Fish Creek.

We both were unsure on the range of our bikes. Turns out mine is good for almost exactly 90 miles and Paul's is good for about 80. He had a small bottle of gas in his pack, so we made it to lunch and enjoyed sandwiches and cake. No issues for day two. Once I got back to camp, I saw a sign as to what may have caused Justin's bike to throw him off. Should have put the sticker on straight!

Only took two pictures. Here is Donald on his GS1200 with a little help from his friends. I saw him after the ride and admits that he was pooped. :grrr:
