Crawdaddy 96 Posted December 9, 2012 Good times with Da Boyz this weekend.........I had fun showing off/sharing my backyard/playground. The Kug, Covered in Casinos, Bagstr, Stomp44, my friend Rich & I rolled out at 7am on Friday morning: We met Hoss and his crew over at the intersection of Mojave Rd. and the CO. River......my friend Gil and his buddy Mike also rode over from Laughlin.......all together we had an even dozen out on the trails Friday..... I took the boys up Mojave Rd. a short ways then we veered off onto some more interesting turf Bagstr background Kug foreground A bit crowded up on one of the ridges between Mojave Rd. and Hwy 163 into Laughlin: Down a wash to the OHV area......more sweet single track inside the OHV area.....across 163 and bound for lunch/gas in Searchlight..... Bagstr tearing it up on our way to Searchlight......can you visualize the smile within that helmet? After lunch/gas in Searchlight we dropped down to Mid Basin on the Shores of Lake Mojave Then we headed up to Christmas Tree Pass.......Rich and Sean (Stomp44) at a a certain viewpoint off of Christmas Tree Pass (Lake Mojave in the distant background) We took Christmas Tree pass back down to the 163 then took a shortcut over to gas/beer in Laughlin.....we all bought oil cans of beer, threw'em in the packs, and I led the boys down to the beach to chillax (the other guys have pics).......nice way to cap off the day.......then we cruised along the river to the AVI casino where crossed over to AZ. and returned to Casa de Crawdaddy Nice steak dinner......off to bed......let's do it again tomorrow.... Sat morning we headed over to Oatman where we again met Hoss's crew and Gil/Mike..... Bags, CID, Rich and Kug at "Woody's".........a scenic viewpoint between Oatman and Golden Valley We gassed up in Golden Valley, bushwacked a bit, and eventually made our way up to the murals just outside of Chloride (the other guys have pics) From the murals we climbed up a fireroad to 6K'.......great views.......then we dropped back down and crossed over Hwy 93 to Cottonwood Road.........Cottonwood leads you up to a ridge road high above Lake Mojave........spectacular views........unfortunately we were running a tad late at this point so no time to linger if we wanted to be back to my house before nightfall..... Snapped this pic of Rich riding along the ridge..... Thanks for coming out guys.......looking forward to seeing your photos/reading your trail tales.... hoss314 0 Posted December 11, 2012 Well...Dan, Forrest, Brock and I were posted up in Laughlin at the Aquarius. Friday morning was a rough morning as we all were having trouble sleeping figuring out what time we were leaving, what time is it now and where are we anyway. Our phones kept swapping from AZ time to NV time. That hour difference was confusing! :dead:/>/> See! Confusing while the clock in the room says one time and our phone says another. But wait, now they are the same time! :bad:/>/> Gift from Dan....it was GOOD! :drinks:/>/> View from the stabbin cabin... We ended up in VIP valet parking at the casino...right out front! Off loaded our bikes and finally hit the road. Met up with the Bullhead boys along the river. Said our hello's and then good bye's as they started the adventure and we waited for awhile to let the dust settle. Friday was some of the best desert riding we have ever rode. Miles and miles of single track with some great challenges. Brock watching Dan down a drop We caught up to the boys at this single track ridge line No tire issues or bike issues all weekend! Well, I had an issue with the stock suspension on my bike....apperantly, KTM builds their bikes for much smaller guys (or gals). Could feel every bump and bottom out a few times. Was a little tough for cornering. No more pictures for Friday. We made it to lunch and gas...gambled on eating at the mexican joint instead of McDonald's. Knowing that McDonalds would have caused us to open our TP package....the mexican food was very good. Took the xmas tree trail and headed in to town. End of day 1 Saturday...after the worlds aligned and we had figured out the time thing...we were up and ready to go! Off loaded the bikes and hit the road. Forrest made an attempt at jumping the fountain on his way out of the parking lot...with only a few sparks he made a clean landing (slide) :crazy:/>/> if only I had a picture of that! Started the ride through Bullhead to the trail on our way to Oatman AZ. Sun in our eyes, dust collecting great ride. My favorite was the blast of adrenalin you get when making a hard right. All of a sudden there is what looks like a wall to climb! A third of the way up the sun hits you right in the eyes....I remember I was thinking "who are those A** Holes at the top of this hill...they got a camera on me!" Made it to the top only to find out the cactus in the area have the best seat in the desert. Oatman AZ Town trolley Town Saloon girl Town named after Olive Oatman....great story to read Day 2 was two track with lots of great views....didn't capture that many on camera. End of day 2 Great ride, awesome company! Thanks Chris!
