Relaxing weekend ride

Recommended Posts

After some agonizing several weeks we were finally able to get out of the house and ride the bike. Nothing exciting, but perhaps worth sharing :)

This is pretty much all on Deer Springs rd in Laguna - pictures will do the talking.

Your lady's braver than mine. There's no way she'd go 2 up on dirt. Looks like a great day, George.

How are those dual sport tires working out? Does your bike like the dirt?

The tires are great. They do wear out a bit too quickly. This is my first set - I was told to expect about 4,000 out of them or so.

The bike is okay in dirt, it lacks ground clearance and is a bit top heavy, but I manage. Most of people will tell you that the vstrom is not made for dirt, but I firmly believe that it will do everything you ask of it, you just can't go too fast as you will most likely scape skidplate every now and then.

I like it because I can easily go anywhere without having to truck the bike out - it feels very comfortable on the tarmac.
