SDAR Forums May Be Monitored by Anti-OHV Groups
Bagstr replied to KTMrad's topic in Forum Terms & Rules
" think, to a person, SDAR riders see the need for wilderness... REAL wilderness... no fire roads, bike paths or even hiking" BS Don't believe that is true. Personally, I do agree with that statement, but off-subject. Extremism in any form is double trouble. "Moderation in all things" So, yes we have a right to Riding Space,,,or Practice/ Competition Space. And it is healthy to have Wilderness. Jim, I'll ride with you on your return. -

Garmin, Feb 2010 "Dear Dave, Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will be happy to help you with this. The largest card that can be used on the 60CSX is the 4 gig card. This limit might increase with future software updates, but for right now it's the 4 gig limit." He also said SDHC is OK. Unlock codes can be problematic. It has been 6 years, but my records show City Navigator needs an unlock code, Topo does not. My instructions say : Open Mapsource, press Control-U, select "Add". Paste unlock code in box, select OK. Or just call Garmin, Wait on Hold, and work through at their instruction. Also remember, when you load maps to your handset, all previous maps are erased. Soo, On your computer using City Navigator And Topo: Select both mapsets and save to that file name. I.E. click CN, use Map Tools to select maps. Click Topo, use Map Tool to select maps. Save to same file name. Transfer to handset. Topo Maps must have more data as they can take 10 minutes or more to load. The frustrating thing is, that if you have too little memory, the software waits until you run out to abort transfer. 97% complete, Oh sorry, abort!. My downloads improved when I increased from 2G to 4gig memory card. The cost of the card these days is minimal. Waypoints and tracks can be loaded separate from maps. At the Transfer screen, check just what you need, i.e. Waypoints 7 Tracks. Maps need to be selected for every filename to the best of my knowledge.

Hey, it just means we will truck farther to the trailhead. Keep us up to date on what you find up north. I heard they have rivers that actually flow year round up that way! In the summer I spend time over in Moscow, ID, so we may meet on a trail. Good Luck to you and the family

Warner Springs to Idyllwild
Bagstr replied to Bagstr's topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
Folks have asked for Tracks on this ride. I don't as a rule save Tracks, just Waypoints. Here is a Google Map that can help you with the addition of a good map. http://maps.google.c...c99c6268e8d1eb8 -
As always, it pays dividends to have the one GPS in the group. Kirk invited me to ride along with Ben and Ralf, steady hands at the wheel all. First thing I say is, "Let me ride at the back, as I will be slowest in this group." But you have the track on the GPS. Lucky me. Thanks Gents!! Nothing challenging, Just nice views and idle banter. Beware Bee Canyon, full of traffic. Thomas Mtn, Iron Spring Cyn where empty.

Hey guys, If we all pony up $1 for every suggestion, Covered will be able to finance the new ride.

You have the Coyote Bag, If you use a 690, get a Renazco seat. Soon there will be a tail rack to carry a Kolpin 1 gal bottle. ( Justin )

Zina, If you watched what passes for "entertainment" on television, you could have saved your hypotheses time for for some world saving question. For example: Why do tires and tubes generate soo much debate?? Are men attracted to DD's? That's a reflex, not a thought process. So as to not have totally wasted your time, here is an entertaining photo.

Bagstr will be in the area 0900 Saturday, available to ride with whomever is onsite. -
Or,,,you could skip the welding and use flexible metal straps, those P shaped goodies with rubber insulators. They could be called Cable Ties. Come in nylon as well. Loop around the existing bars, bolt through the holes in the strap ends. Coupled with the hard base inside the bag, it would be stable. Is the bag for tools or jackets? You might have luck at Marshalls Industrial Supply off Miramar Rd. http://www.tiewraps.com/loompage.html

Crusty. What rear rim are you running on the XR. Tubliss doesn't spec for my 2.5" rim on the 690.
