    Yucca Valley

Below is a recent photo from Burns Canyon just outside of Pioneertown (just outside of Yucca). This road goes to Big Bear. Speaking of Riceless, he stopped here when I was resting and took this photo. Nice guy. Seems to know the area real well. This is a road in JV as mentioned by others. This particular road is 15 minutes from Yucca. Landers is about 10 minutes from Yucca. I have hooked up to a dirt road from Reche in Landers that went to Giant Rock. Plenty of riding out there if you know the area. I am not that up on the whole landscape. I would spend more time up there, but do not have a smaller bike these days. Hope to get one in 2010. Jim

Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad to hear you are healing and working through it. Keep us posted on your progress. Jim

    Newb from Temecula area

Welcome! Not sure if you are saying you take the South Main Divide when you go from Wildomar to Ortega. I do that ride on occasion. Hopefully we'll cross paths one of these weekends. I would be curious to know if that mountain lion you saw was near the South Main Divide. I ride alone mostly and would probably panic a little if I saw one. Jim
  4. I was wondering where the dualsport guys were headed to find dirt. 40 Miles is a little far on pavement. It was a nice turn out. I had to park way up the street around the corner near denny's and walk to the event because I didn't get there until around 11:30. I wanted to do the street ride but cracked a rib last week. I shouldn't have even left my house, but since it was so close to me I decided to drop in to make a donation and envy the people getting ready...hope to do it next year. Jim
  5. I actually just learned about this ride. Will be looking in to the details of signing up for the 100 mile slab portion of the ride. Still being new to this site (and sort of new to ADV), hope to see some of you out there. I also hope the weeks weather forcast of nice weather next weekend holds up as well - but even weather forcasters have trouble prediciting a day or two out. Jim
  6. I have not posted a lot since joining this group, but those photos and write up were great. Thank you for posting that! Jim

    newbie here in Temecula

Welcome! I am not far from you and fairly new here. This may be my second post. Anyway, I started to take the Teneja Trail a couple of weeks ago from Clinton Keith headed north. I got a little spooked and turn back at the first turnout because it was pretty creepy being out there by myself. I mostly road ride due to my bike. I will try it again because it seemed like it could be a fun ride. Like I say, I just get a little freaked out in unfamiliar surroundings. I have taken South Main Divide to the OHV park from the 74, but never from Clinton Keith. I want to complete that loop at some point. I would like to start at Rancho Cal where it turns into De Luz. Jim
  8. Hello to all! I have been lurking around this site for some time. I have mostly been posting on ADV and have noticed a few people from this site over there. I live in Temecula, but most of my rides have me venturing out towards Anza, Palomar, Julian, etc., so this site seemed like a great place to join. I ride a Wee and mostly street ride, but have put the TKC-80's on thinking they might help me with dirt, but that remains to be seen because I have not ridden in the dirt much yet. The idea is to start venturing out a little farther each time and hitting some dirt roads along the way. Anyway hope to see some of you out and about as I already have noticed a lot of posts regarding riding in areas I frequent from time to time. Take care!
