  3. set up well, the 300Kato is the ideal mount, just get er set up in the quickest turning arrangement, smoothest power settings and good turn in are the tickets. I digress completly, this is a side note to all the Kato riders (it just popped in to my head), most KTMs 80%(just wild a%& number guess) are not set up correctly suspension wise by their riders, this causes them to be slugglish and ride around the front end (like a chopper) instead of into and onto the front end for positive steering, set up correctly these things will rail corners with minimal energy expended and reward trail riders and step their ride level up.

    2009 Husky TE 310 - Service Manual ?

the 250 4T motors (your 310 base motor) are pretty much the same as far as oil changes, airfilter, valve adjustments go simple up keep is standard and easy on these bikes. 06-07 08-09 will be good to use the manuals for all those years. PS You have one of the best of the best small DS machines, its a no compromise trail bike and the 310 adds to the bike big time. Had to say that again.

    The Ranch MX at Anza

95 but breezy so we burned a few laps and came into the shade and repeated process. Retro track was novice/B rider friendly and safe, I think even the main track is the same but with fast pros out there we stuck with the retro track. Its far out in the boonies, but so is Cahuilla (which is also fantastic).

Mexican police help murder their own mayor

That (the strong border security) plus get all the dope heads here to stop buying the crap from them and driving the murderous market. If you want to use,,,,buy domestic!!!. I never thought I would say that but its a better alternative. My tuppence (2cents)
  13. I am sticking up for the LA entry fee expense (I know 135 is alot). But listen Logistically a very difficult matter, ranch property rental fees (payoff etc). folks to man all the checks. 90 miles of single track and alot of it will be tough and all one way use. They probably will never do one of these Enduros again (Im sure we will see more Harescambles). They are laying out routes NOW.......this is major undertaking and once its underway and you are in it and if you finish you will get your moneys worth, every penny. This is worth it for the ride alone and that is why I keep comming back, I have missed only 2003 since 1994 there were some no race years in there as well. Anyone who thinks they know how to ride real single track should do this thing just to fully understand how good the pro level enduro guys are and to test your own ability and mental power in real test of person and machine. Every one of these type of Nat caliber events that I have entered always turn out to be real epic thrillers and give you the best post event feeling and bench race stories. The event will be epic in every way and for local B+ riders it should not be missed. all this is IMHO, this is true adventure ride all for the cost of a new tire. RN

    AIROH Helmets

This is an FYI thread http://www.airoh.com/Pages/Azienda/Perfezione.aspx I have been wearing the Stelt(Steath) Senior for a couple of years now. This is one of my secret weapons of riding (BRUX is another) its fit and finish is artisan nice and it's #1 issue is it's ultra light weight to reduce muscular stress(1000 grams) are great. 100% made in Italy, no subcontract off shore manufacturing. I have heard they are not here because they can barely keep up with demand just in the EU alone.

    The Ranch (new mx track)

was hoping for the vintage or 60s style (closed)but went with the opened 80s style. I was very happy with the big DS legal husky on this track and did all my riding with the crew on that track. had a good time, great exercise. heat plus altitude equals good training. Big adv bikes would not have been a good idea on the current tracks. The 80 style track was filled sandy loose stuff so more moto/enduro machines were the ones to use.
  16. Hope he does well!! entering the redbull rookies cup is swimming with the big(young guys)fish. Its like joining the 125GP circus. All on KTM 125cc 2T GP bikes. It is fearsome international competition, nothing like local district racing on our tracks. They race on all the famous circuits, the real FIM GP tracks, fantastic stuff!! Future GP racers are born here. Best of luck to Aaron!! http://www.redbullrookiescup.com/news.php
  17. from tecate, mex it has a name (I forget it) and looks tame in the foto,,,but it just goes on on on up up up loose loose marbles and sharp rocks all the way. by 1/2 way your legs are burning but you have more and more difficult sections ahead. Been up and down it on various rides. Its memorable. more in sequence shots from the same ride the "trail" comes from over to the right as viewed, its from the uphill side coming down, and continues down the slab to an almost vert downhill into the valley.
  18. first 2 yes, second 2 from an "xtreme ride" near sta veronica. second 2 we got through the section and watched as follow on riders proceeded to steam away alot of coolant getting through the puzzle of rocks. on that ride there were some sick climbs and descents with pre ride warnings that i wish had some film footage of.

    The Ranch (new mx track)

I cant vouch for anything No-one has seen the place yet (Christy will be there today Friday 20aug), other than the report that Stu Peters and Preston Petty created a 1960s style MX track, which by our standards is a scrambles course. Maybe some bumps but no jumps and just a flowing course. I hope the dirt is good and not too sandy (for the big machines), but at the same time in the 60s guys were riding Triumph twins and big heavy thumpers from BSA and others as well. So if its friendly for those beasts a modern ADV big bike should be good to go (that depends alot on rider skill as well). I will be riding my TE610 big thumper, but it is(was) a fully competitive racing machine in the 90s-00s.

    Vintage dual sports?

IMHO the 80s Honda XL350 and 500 are the best of the best 80s vintage DS machines, the XL250 (280 kit was great) gets honorable mention as well. They are out there for really good prices. The parts availability is no issue and they are easy to maintain. best of luck
  22. funny the signature didnt read Harvey Mushman. nice post,,,dang i am old, remember them as new.....rode the model year shown or close to it(73/4 or 5?) of the Honda CR125 when it was brand new, friend had a new one and it scared the living &*%^ out of me. I stuck with my DS bike, I guess that is what it was,,,a Honda CB100 with "knobbies" and home made handguards (leather!!), was good as a flattracker in the farmers fields and dirt roads but did not take bumps very well!!Local guys were even MXing step through Hondas at that time and just thrashing them, Honda's were everywhere in those days,,,but me and my friends were not the nicest people you'd meet on Hondas, I would rate us as just ok.....mostly a bunch of idiot boys.Ha
  23. Is kind of level but gnarley OK? tecate stream bed, many overheated machines in this section, very fun to watch.
  24. I call BS.. post up i love u 2..BS, does it need to be going up??? old but good jan07
