  1. Thanks Jim for a great ride. Fun times and great group to ride with. Pretty minor issue with the luggage considering the pace and terrain. Let's do another soon.
  2. We We saw the marker although Amgens almost blew past it. Luckily we had some young eyes along with us to keep us on track. Great times and perfect conditions. Thanks for bringing along the water truck to keep the dust down.
  3. Hi, My name is Brian and thought I better join the forum instead of just lurking around the site. I am a little out of the area living in north OC (Yorba Linda) but don't hold that against me. I think you have a great site and a very active group of riders. I enjoyed doing the Dash last year and I am getting ready for this years ride. It is definitely one of the best organized rides I have done. Last time I ended up tagging along with Joliet and Schwinn for the Saturday loop. It was great having a couple of guides to follow through unfamiliar country and I appreciated the company. Unfortunately, we did end up loosing Ken somewhere in the sand dunes but luckily we all made it back in one piece. I am still not sure what happened. Like a lot of the other folks here, I have several rides but spend most of the time on my XR600 or a KTM 525. Anymore, I keep to the easy stuff and ride pretty slow but always like to get out and explore new country. Hope to meet more of you soon. Brian

    Chain Adj Bolt Frozen

I am not sure if this will help as your problem sounds like it is in worse shape than mine but I had the same problem with my 525EXC. The dealer suggested partially filling up the swingarm with WD40 by removing the brake hose clamp screw on the swingarm and squirting the lubricant in the screw hole. My problem was on the disc side so it was easy but I noticed that the lubricant did make it across to the other side. I left it that way for a couple of weeks and even did a ride on it. It worked and I was able to get it to move. I ran it back and forth a little at a time with a six point socket untill I got it out. The adjuster bolt threads were galled so I retapped the holes and replaced both adjusters with antiseeze compound. Good Luck Brian
