    A TEST POLL

We're testing the Polling system, it's simple to use & simple to set up a POLL. I will post instructions how to set up a poll soon.
  2. Testing how to POLL....please check it out, we'll see if it works. Thanks,
  3. You all should now be able to store 100 PM's in your message box, including sent and received. If you want more space, please let me know and I can up the number of storable messages. Also, many forums will now be able to host a POLL....voting on a topic or issue. I will put together some instructions how to set up a POLL, it's pretty easy to do.

    "My Dog" / Doggie's thread!

I like this thread and will post some photos of our Mascot, Cody Boy.....but also, please see the reminder about posting Non-Moto photos hosted on the SDAR server....under the Website Info Forum at the top of the Forums page. Thanks,
  6. Just a reminder folks....everyone is welcome to post photos hosted on the SDAR server, if they have to do with motorcycles only (excluding something like the Boob Thread, which those type of photos should NOT be hosted on the SDAR server). If you want to post any type of photos other than motorcycle oriented, please don't use the SDAR server as a host, since this webspace is graciously provided for FREE by Uncle Cameron, and we don't want to use up webspace for NON-MOTO related photos. Please use your own photo hosting sites for Non Moto photos....like Imageshack, SmugMug, PhotoBucket, etc. This policy may change in the future if we start charging for webspace use, but for now the policy stands. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation,
  7. Please go to the Members Only Forums for a new forum on the Trail Rating System that many want to start and participate in. This is a "password protected" forum, and the password is the same as discussed in previous e-mails about the same password being used for future new forums in this section. IF you are not aware of the password protected Members Only Forums, they are open to registered members who are regular posters on this site. You must post and be known to have access to these forums. If you don't have the passwords, you must send me a PM asking for the passwords. Thanks,
  8. I'm trying to get more info on this to see what may be accomplished by attending this meeting, and making comments also in the public comment period. Meeting is in Riverside. MEETING AGENDA LINK
  9. If you're posting a new ride and inviting others, you should start a new post about the ride so others know about it, eh ?

San Diego Dual Sport Trails Rating

I think the approach Honda Pilot mentioned sounds the best, making it easiest for everyone to figure out on their own based on the Average Rating of a trail from everyone else's input. I tried figuring out how to do a "Poll" for other posts before, with no luck. I will have to call the actual designers of the forum software to figure out how to do it, may take some time.

San Diego Dual Sport Trails Rating

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU,! Youve said in a few words what its taken me 3 pages to say, and I understand what you are saying! LOL I think this should be done in the members only section to keep it on the up and up! Well put Honda Pilot! thanks again \Actually, this idea above makes sense.

San Diego Dual Sport Trails Rating

I posted this reply, before reading the other posts......... I think there are too many variables as to the different experience levels, different outlooks on what is fun, what is difficult, and what type of bike one rides to clearly rate dirt roads and trails for everyone's use. I do agree with what someone mentioned, if you do this, probably better to keep it in the "Members Only" Forums. After reading more of the ideas about how to go about this.......please SEE MY NEXT POST.
  14. Nice write-up, photos and trip !! As far as the photos without the helmet.....I say leave them posted and they are fine. Geez, we gotta have a little fun nowadays !! There's enough stinkin' laws and rules to protect us from ourselves
  15. I have a friend with an older Harley, it's slightly customized, and has electrical problems when it gets hot. Anyone know a really good, reliable, knowledgeable Harley mechanic who could diagnose and fix the problem ? We do have an idea what it may be, but the shops he's taken it to weren't able to fix the problem. Thanks,

    Crossing the Border

Anyone crossed over into Tijuana lately ? If so, are they checking ID's or papers as you cross from the US to Mexico ? Thanks,
  18. Bagstr, my 950 is still down.......I finally ordered all the parts to redo the fork seals and add new springs. Haven't had the time to replace the subframe on my Elefant yet, hope to get that going soon. So, for now, I don't have big bike to ride.

Been out of town. I get back Friday and need to meet with Uncle Cameron to finalize some designs, and we'll get them going soon. Also have a lead on a local guy I need to talk to.
  20. With no work lined up for the week of July 4th, I decided spur of the moment to take advantage of an entire week off....... I'm hoping to leave on Monday, with my camping trailer and the 640 in the back of the truck to head up to the Bishop area. I will try to get a campground up by Bishop Creek at about 7000 to 8000 feet where it is cooler and stay all week. I plan on riding and exploring just about every day while there, charting routes for future dualsport ride to be promoted by SDAR in 2008. Temperatures around Bishop have been around 100, but I'll be riding mostly in the high elevations where it will be in the 80's. The riding at the low elevations will be minimal. So far, I have nobody to ride with...my friend up there broke his ankle and can't ride. I know this is short notice, but does anyone have any time off and want to meet up there for a couple of days of riding, or the entire week ? If nobody else I invited can make it, then I will have a spare bed in my trailer. Oh....if anyone can make it, you're experience level should be minimum Intermediate. I plan to be back either Saturday or Sunday.
  21. Gotta love ADVrider.com Every time I post about going riding somewhere out of town, I get a response from someone....this time, a guy called me who's staying in Mammoth for a couple of weeks and wants to get together to do some riding this week in the Sierra Honda Pilot, if I'm in Bishop around lunchtime on the day you mentioned, I'll give you a call. Otherwise I'll let you know where we'll be and you can do a fly-by. What type of plane are you flying ??j Y'all have a great July 4th week and weekend !!
  22. Thanks to all those who participated and helped on this round of the Adopt-a-Trail. Sorry I didn't make this round With no work lined up for next week, I decided to take advantage of the time off and I've been prepping my trailer, etc. for departure to the Sierra, hopefully leaving on Monday. I'll be working on laying out an organized SDAR ride up there for next year. Will post more in Informal Rides forum to see if anyone can join me. Again, thanks for all your hard work and support !! Special thanks to Carguy for getting the whole thing going !!
