  1. I heard some dealers should be getting 08's in the next few weeks!! Who, from SDAR GREEN TEAM, is getting the first one???

I sat on one two weeks ago at North county house of Motorcycles off of emerald. The salesman came over an told me what a good dual sport bike it was. Then we laughed and laughed! Good times! It looks good, but is more oriented towards street. They way I crash it would be fugly real quick!

  2. I would never put a synthetic oil in my motor, unless the clutch uses a separate oil. I hate a slipping clutch. :)

Whenever you bring up oil, this debate rages on and on. They say the clutch will slip if you use oil that has some type of Moly(additive) in it. They say do not use the Enviro friendly oils, these are problematic. I have been using castrol 15-40 synthetic, and no slip what so ever!

  3. One other thing! I have been trying out different oils and always looking for best price. Lately I have found that Pep boys has a wide selection, and if you go to there website you can download a coupon for 5 bucks. It has to be on 30 or over, but case of synthetic oil usually is at $30.0.

  4. "Shut Up and Ride" is not really our "statement", it's just a fun logo we put on the shirts 2 years in a row.

LETS NOT GET ALL FRAGILE, Dont read into it,its like "when the flag drops the b.s stops. its all fun.

This is a serious club! No room for jocularity here! :D

  5. I am going to steal a line from RO. I say what I mean and do what I say(however that goes). On the Desert dash first day I wiped out really good! I believe I cracked a rib, and did some separating of my shoulder! Shoulder still hurts, and still have loss of feeling in my hand. Never went to the doctor because the pain lessened as time went by and did not get worse(hate going to the doctor). I was done with the dash. Swallowed pain killers and drank that night to kill pain(I don't really drink). Next day SDland is telling me he is going to sweep the course by himself, with a broken bike! I was in pain, done and packing. In the spirit of looking out for each other I could not let him go alone. Doped myself up on some more pain killer and went. 3/4 of a man is better than none! His bike did start to overheat at the end, but no big deal. So you can understand that I do not subscribe to the notion of changing our motto to "NO one gets left behind, unless you leave a note!" That is weak, and not the right attitude to have! I have ridden with all involved and all good people. Some things just should not happen!

  6. I completely concur! It was a fantastic ride. The terrain was very diverse as was the skill level required. The technical single to the wide open fire road. It was a fast pace ride with few crashes. No injuries or damage. All in all you could not ask for more, except more time to ride. Next time! The trail system up there is vast. Many more trips will be required to explore. We had so much fun riding we did not really stop and site see. Thanks again Steve!

  7. I would have to say that really sucks! You don't ever, ever leave the meeting point with ONE man left on the trail. I understand people being hurt, but no one was dying! But someone could of been, on the trail! Yes that's worst case scenario, but ---- happens and we are supposed to watch out for each other. ---- why go with a group, might as well just go by yourself! I am glad tntmo had the tools and supplies to get himself out of the jam! I have been noticing a lot of people are not carrying tools, tubes and necessities when doing this sport. If you can spend the money on your bike, you can spend the money on equipment to save your own ass! I go out with newbs who don't know and don't have anything, but I do this knowing that it is up to me and I take on that responsibility. Experienced riders who don't carry anything are just being jackasses! The rest of us don't need to be your supply train. That being said I would NEVER deny someone the help or supplies they needed to get them home!

  8. Thanks Crawdaddy. I like the ramp tips and adding the rubber mats for the non slipage factor. If you add a eye wood screw in the bottom, it wood act like a tie down.

Tj I called to see if I could have the kit express mailed, but they said they could not get it here until monday! I then called local to see what was available, and those type of kits had to be ordered. If you want to buy ramps NChouse of motorcycles said he would give you a deal. For the two ramp set up(not wood) will get pricey. Almost better off buying the two bike joe hauler(MMMHHH)! Time to call back. I called back and they were $800.00 and only carried 700 lbs. No deal!

  9. I would like to go, but I don't have a way to tow my bike there, and I don't think my rear could take that much of a ride :rtfm: . Anybody have room for another bike? I don't have any tow straps or anything, it would all be on whoever has the room for me. No biggie if I can't go. I went up the road a few years ago in my Jeep, but it would be more fun on a bike.

I have a big truck that can fit another bike, but I do not have a ramp and steps to get the bike in it. I usually just use my Joehauler. Where are you located?

  10. I have the 150 Terra flex, but have not mounted it. I am worried about rubbing. Not only on the usual swingarm issues, but also under the seat. I have noticed that the 130 dunlop has been rubbing a little under the rear fender/subframe.
