From the hints you dropped I think I know your intentions. I have done this route on a mountain bike numerous times but never on a moto. The "tracks" can get quite rough and narrow in a few spots and a fall could result in a major disaster at few of the high points. It can be done but care must be taken and the old '"architecture" is worth the trip. Tntmo the 450 would be the best tool for this adventure. Good luck!

I've heard many good comments about golden tyre. I guess i'll have to give them a shot when the desert IT wears out.

Reguarding tires: I've been happy with the Maxxis Desert IT

Congratulations! That's a great bike. Things on my list of mods would be: Baja Designs squadron LED headlight skid plate Large capacity fuel tank Replace the stock DOT tires with some good off road knobbys New front and/or rear sprockets to change gearing I think the 2018's don't have a kick start but you can add one as an option. Nice to have a back up just in case. Get out there and ride. Enjoy your new moto.

Great ride! I enjoyed it. The added adventure up arroyo seco del diablo was worth the effort.

I would like to do this ride but can't. I've already made plans to take the 4 wheelers from Ocotillo Wells to Superstition Mt. do some shooting at the range then hit the mountain for some 4x4 action. Also doing operation desert fun event on Saturday.
