Thanks brother!  Just spent 4 days in Borrego, 2 for class and 2 for riding around with Tom Thompson.  Welcome home!

  2. Happy B-Day, keep in mind" You don't stop riding when you get older, You get older when you stop riding. And that fast.

  3. I may or may not be able to join the ride tomorrow. Not sure if I’ll get home from travel tonight. Hope to see you and the crew.

  4. Kelly, There is a SENA 20s for sale on the ADV forum $150. Do you know if this can work with a Samsung Phone? I only see the I phone on the box. I never had any fancy music in my helmet.

I don’t know the Samsung but assume it will pair just fine with any Bluetooth phone system.
      you will enjoy having music!

That was funny to see the three of you at the front door. I. Was doing the last. Check for packages. Must have appeared to be the attack of the the Door Monitor, with the lights and everything.

Enjoy the cool riding weather. Dave

Great seeing you neighbor. We walk there almost every day. Cool weather is great. I took 14 ADV bikes down old stagecoach RD Saturday. It was a hoot! But man is the desert loose now. Sand is deep and loose.

NICE! Can't wait to see it.

  7. FYI: Tried to ride Thing a few weeks ago, just before the fires. It was completely fenced off at the Sunrise Highway side. Some sort of construction or something, but an admirable job in securing the trail- there was just no way around it without a complete and ugly bushwhack.

And- honestly, I wouldn't ride anywhere in the area- way too much fire danger, either getting trapped or having a fire start in the area and getting blamed for it.

Good intel Paul.  Thanks a ton for sharing.  Yeh . . . . getting blamed for fires could be very very ugly.

I'm looking for a good 50/50 route (paved/dirt) from Borrego to the Border and Thing/Fred was a real nice big bike route.

Maybe the CA Hike/Ride Trail heading south east from the bottom of Banner Grade would be a good option,  to Ocotillo Wells, maybe a shot around Valley of the Moon (haven't ridden that yet) then Inkopah /80 towards Campo on the border.  Something like that maybe.

I'm open to suggestions if you have any.

      disregard above.

I sent an email to you @ .putzkes - fahrspass

It's a forward from my son that shows the contact name and the 5 page contract so that you can see what that looks like.  Let me know if the email didn't go through and give me a new email address to send to.

Thank you Udo!  Foolish of me to think anything for the bike would be inexpensive and simple.  Dan has me thinking about buying his 1150 again, so I'm no sure if I want to put yet another $160 into it just before I sell it.

I've been through Saratoga hot springs but never stopped to soak.  If we ever get up that way together I'll take you to Strawberry Park hot springs a few miles outside of  Steamboat CO.  It is one of the coolest hot springs I've ever had the pleasure of visiting.  It's a bumpy forest service road to get to, but passable even in the winter with 4WD.  I've had a few really good winter soaks in deep snow there after skiing.

  12. Kelly, great talking with you last night. Hope we can ride together soon. A couple years ago I rented a fire lookout tower in Oregon, they have them all over in the western states for rent. I'm thinking about a trip someday to hit up a few. Here is the one we stayed in a sample of the 30 mile road to get to it.
