  1. Cool meeting everyone that came out yesterday! Good company, entertainingly rough dirt road, romantic sunset... with purple flowers, temps more pleasant than expected... look forward to another.

    Knee Replacement

2nd Dr Cohen. Still have original knees. Been fixed 4X. Cohen did 3 of the 4 with very good results.
  3. S10 ABS disable ... dash mounted switch to relay inline with ABS fuse. Break the circuit, no ABS. Have to key off and restart to turn ABS back on.
  4. Would likely meet you for a DS xxxx sometime if I ever knew what the xxxx you were talking about, haha.
  5. D37 has a variety of formats and a busy schedule. If you're 40+ B or C rider you don't have to be crazy fast to do well over a season. Pit with a club and they'll make sure you make it back in.
  6. I'm out tomorrow, had something else come up this afternoon. Will be keeping an eye out for the next one.
  7. Could ride with you Sunday.
  8. I had one of the OE plastic quick disconnects fail on my 500exc midday on a hot June day last year deep in the mud hills of OW. Made the day a bit more of an effort than we planned on. Had spare fuel line and clamps with me but no disconnect or coupler. Now I know...

    Cylinder Bore

Racers machine mentioned above has done very good work for me.
  10. Leaving Ramona 3 or so and heading south through Lakeside. Tavern Rd, maybe down to the 94. Either lean into the wind on the warm S2 or chill on Sunrise Hwy to get back. 3 hrs or so ride. Many seem to think that they'll turn into a pumpkin (which could be a good thing in this group) if they don't get home early Sunday ... which is why I like to ride late day on Sundays. Post or PM if interested.
  11. Really like Devil's Highway and Rim. There are some cool routes, street and backcountry, on the NM side of this area.
  12. Lurking... Could possibly meet you in Ramona. Seems like a really short route. Add in Sunrise Highway or something else?? Guessing this is a big bike ride?
  13. Wanna get some miles and burn some gas... just completed a clutch upgrade. Leaving Ramona 9'ish, time is flexible. Riding up to Anza and returning Palomar Divide. Roughly 150 miles, 90+ of it is dirt. Move at a decent clip, don't stop too much. Typically takes 4 hours. Post or PM if interested and we can establish a meeting time and place.
  14. Rode this route between Ramona and Anza late Friday. The portion between Warner Springs and Anza, N of Chihuahua, was really rough from the thunderstorms in that area last week... mud flows, wash outs, off camber side lines funneling into deep ruts on hills, full width mud puddles. Fun on a small or midsize bike. Would be a nice challenging ride on a big bike. Was being bladed/dragged south from Anza and Chihuahua at the time. Each had done about a mile.
  15. Have a great ride Udo! Looking forward to the story and pics.
  16. I was thinking of taking a quick ride from Ramona Sat morning if that interests anyone. Leave 9 at the latest. North through the forest including Santa Ysabel TT, Mesa Grande ... out and back of Culp/Jasper/Grapevine... rtn via Ranchita, 79 and Old Julian. 110 miles from Packards, intermediate pace. Typically less than 3 hours with minimal/no stops. I'll be on a 690.
  17. Really cool! Looks like some seriously challenging big bike riding.
  18. Cool trip report Udo. Thanks for posting. Big bike stuck in the mud ... that's the stuff of ADV nightmares...
  19. Thinking about a big bike ride over to the Devil's Highway in the near future. Maybe ride the Mogollon Rim-dirt? Maybe ride Mogollon NM to the divide-dirt(still trying to figure out if I have the range for this one)? Apache Trail on the way back. Lots of options for highly rated twisty roads and scenic dirt routes. The Devil's Highway is a 100 mile stretch with roughly 400-500 (so I hear) turns, a lot of them really tight 1st and 2nd gear stuff down south. 4 days is making sense to me especially since it takes half of a day each to get over there and return. The routes that I come up with look like about 10 hours moving each day. Likely camping every night. Leave Friday, return Monday. Currently considering 5/4, 5/18 and 6/1 for departure dates. Post if you would be interested in coming along.
  20. Wish I could make next week. Have a great/safe ride!
  21. This is the basic route I was planning to do. It's a bit ambitious but pretty typical of what I do on solo rides. From a couple of hours before Prescott on day 1 until clearing Apache Trail the vast majority of this route is the highest rated street and dirt on Butler Maps. There are many campsites and plenty of options to add or lose time. I have ridden almost all of this except for the NM stuff. An America the Beautiful pass and AZ land pass are good things to have for this trip. Day1 Camp in one of the Rim sites Day2 Taking the dirt out of Mogollon means 240 miles between gas. Day3 The day with too many curves Day4
