Dang, I have those exact same days off that week and have been wanting to hit some serious Sierra single track (SSST). But I'll be heading to Bar 10 the following week and just can't pull off back to back weeks for families sake. Next time I hope to make it.

Guess I'm a day late and a dollar short on this one...sorry I missed this thread for some reason. As you may have guessed, I cracked the case on my 950 Adventure and had it successfully welded by a friend of a friend that used a special cold welding process normally used on aircraft parts. Glad you go your fixed!!

Ok, I have the GPS mounted and wired on both bikes. Thanks for all the input. Now, what next??? I'm heading to Bar 10 in a few weeks and have never used a GPS before as far as using tracks. My 78 is stock. What should I purchase as far as maps?? Anything else I need for it???

I was pretty sure that was the correct setup, so thanks for confirming guy! Goof, thanks for the extra info on that top mount set up...I had not seen that option yet but now I think I'll go with it.

This is a very interesting conversation, and since I'm expecting my first GPS to be in my mailbox later today, this subject has caught my attention. I know I'll have a sharp learning curve a head of me on this subject, and now it seems even more complicated. Maybe I'll just ride with Johnnyairtime for the rest of my riding career.

No plans, other than I know I'm going ride Saturday. Not sure if I'm going do a big loop from Ramona on the 950 or throw the 530 on the motorack and meet up with someone somewhere for some single track.
