KTM 450 70 Degree Thermostat Question

My experience is similar to Paul's. I'd be interested in some real readings on similar bikes with and without. Gonna follow this.

    River Run

Probably true...... Just does not seem to be enough reward to me after a hard day in the saddle. Now an ice cold Sam Adams and you're talking!!

KTM 450 70 Degree Thermostat Question

I have heard that water can pass too quickly without some restriction (like a t-stat) and not cool effectively at all. Not saying this would happen in this case but throwing it out there.

    Big bike off road training.

I dropped my orange bike 4 times the first time I rode there (twice in the same spot!). Granted it was very wet and sloppy and I hate my front tire (making excuses now, but I have never fell 4 times in one day so I am still butt hurt from it). Cool place; I'll go back.

    River Run

I read the solo-ness of the ride, I see the beauty of the scenery, I respect the solitude and have huge props for the rock tribute to your wife. I cannot for one second understand celebrating all of that goodness with a COORS 🀒

    Big bike off road training.

I look at the places that I have ridden my 650 (Ocotillo, Pismo, Big Bear) and wonder if it is just what you know. Granted I only have three short (all under 100 miles) on my 500, but I will admit to feeling more comfortable and in control on the 650. The 500 is very cool, but I have not grown into the "lightness" of it yet. Hoping to get more seat time this year and learn to enjoy that bike more. Back to your OP, Kelly: Just like golf (that I have been playing for 50 years), I have never taken a lesson/class from a pro that I am sure I would learn a bazillion things from. I read your post and watched the viddy and I can only imagine the things that you learned and the increased confidence that you came back with. I know that with some proper input I would improve and enjoy the experience much more than I already do. Goals for me will be golf lessons AND a bike class.

Had my first flat tire today.

I thought the same thing; looked like a yard sale 🀣

    New Rider in Del Cerro

    Welcome, Eric!!
  11. And that is really what it is all about! I will admit that this made me tear up a little bit. Bikes create such a great bond and are unlike most anything else that you can do with your son (or daughter). I bought my son his first bike when he was 8 and he is now 27. When we get to ride it is always just two guys out having fun; buddies. Very cool story; thank you for being "man enough" to share it!
  12. Waiting anxiously for the ride report

    New KTM vs Husqvarna

    Good for you; congratulations!!!
  16. That's not much less than CA! That surprises me.
  17. Awesome pics!! Just paid the tags on my orange bike ($206) and red bike ($126). Saw the tags on your bike are now AZ; what did your bike cost to register 😑

    New KTM vs Husqvarna

Check with Marc at NCY when you are at Moto Forza (couple minutes apart). I got my orange bike from him about a year ago and it was a good experience. Relatively new ownership and they seem to be willing to move bikes.
