  1. Do you mind sharing the problem so we don't make the same mistake if the was one to start with.... I ride alone there and just did a solo run to Cabo on Thanksgiving week. My Mexican insurance does cover legal issues but never had to use it.
  2. He is not 😁😁😁 who wants to go in 2023 I am free the 17th to the 20th and can leave the 16th late afternoon. Same schedule or itinerary 4 day baja let's go.
  3. Yes big bikes but any but any bike will do as it's paved only trip. I will be on my new 890 Adventure R and because there is no trophies at the end it's about the ride and the fun speeders will be on there own.
  4. If I can't pull off a trip to Montreal in two weeks I can also do 4 days with stop wherever you want 18 19 20 21 of February otherwise pick a weekend next month and I am in. Post it and let's do it.
  5. I am open to other destinations including North of the boarder as in Sequoia's or Santa Barbara wine country just want to ride where to does not matter to me.
  6. Who wants to go 18.19.20.21 February we can do it two ways leave Thursday afternoon spend the night at Pirates Cove then the next morning friday go to Bahia De Conception/Loreto or leave Friday morning head to Bahia De Conception/Loreto spend two nights and ride back Monday. hotels and dinner plans excellent i have done this many many many times alone. I will be on KTM 890 Adventure R and willing to go any pace you can even be on DRZ400 or KLX 250 its all about the ride as there's no trophies waiting for us when we get home.
  7. I am actually thinking of doing the same thing and San Felipe or Ojos Negros are my choice.I can only leave after 03:00pm on Friday which means either spot is ok I will be on the big bike if I go to San Felipe mile 630 but will use my Polaris rzr if I go and watch in Ojos mile 780. So I will need to be in San Felipe at 08 00pm to watch the first bike going thru there and midnight for Ojos Negros. I agree with everyone that the start of the race is the most fun I was at Mike's Sky Rancho when the second KTM rider was told to get off the bike....they are done racing he was told after the death of caselli.

    Legal question.

Commenting on the picture and where it was taken. I did go to Coronado a couple of weeks ago and watch them maneuver the bikes....amazing control and knowledge. They should video the whole thing and show it on TV so idiots know they can't run from the law enforcement officers. I've panic braked a few times on the road and I participate in on-going training in panic braking on a monthly basis. I will say unequivocally that an ABS bike will stop in a shorter distance than a non ABS bike in a panic braking situation. Even if the rider is highly skilled in threshold braking. If could be the difference between life or death in my opinion. Doesn't look like any panic here, cool as a cucumber! 9. The English government has a budget for those monkeys to be there, they feed them, they have doctors that treat them and make sure they are healthy enaugh to steal go pros, sunglasses and everything else they can put there hands on. London believe that as long as the monkeys are there the they will own the rock.

    The Safety Gestapo...

I hate to be the one to remind everyone but I was in Baja on a ride with other SDAR members where two of the members had a head on collision that involved stitches, plenty of them and bikes towed to the border.it was not pretty at all because the first hour we didn't know if we had to use SPOT to get immediate medical evacuation to the USA. baja is not any safer than the the USA the advantage there is the roads are wider but if you crash getting medical help is still very difficult compare that with the USA where I think getting help is probably as fast as you are going to get it comparing with any part of the world. You can thank the attorney for that And hate for other things at the same time. pros and cons everywhere key word just be safe and careful when riding.

Non Bike question re: Rhino's / ATV's in baja.....

I will join you guys on the trip if you want, I have a Polaris RZR 900S and would love do this ride. Send me a PM and we can connect as I have done this with my bikes small and big solo and With a group. Rancho Santa Veronica is an excellent stage place but I am OK if you want to stage somewhere else safe.
  12. I agree 100% with you and from valley T you can go the back way to Mike's Sky Ranchow or use HWY 3 south towards San Felipe FOR exactly 10 miles turn right at the sign and go straight up to Mike's.

    Baja Motorcycle Legend in Escondido

I have been lucky enough to meet him and buy parts from him and listen to him on advice. He was a legend and will always be a legend in the world of Baja racing or motorcycle racing in general. Escondido have always amazed me in terms of great legends that called it home, we have a bakery called Delight of France on Grand and broadway it is still open today even if the guy that started it 15 years ago died, he was so famous in the world of baking, This guy was so good at what he was doing that he was the chief baker at Le Crayon one the most expensive hotels in the world that is located in the center of Paris France. One day he quit his job and moved to Escondido not to New York or Los Angeles. He was there cooking every day everything you bought from the bakery and always fired everyone he hired because they were not as good as him and also because he had a real French attitude in regards to perfection....we are talking baking not cars or motorcycle, he died also few years ago from Parkinson disease. RIP Ron Bishop you will be missed.
