Well crap. This means we'll never get to ride Baja together. (That may be a plus for your retirement . . .) So now who is going to join me in going around gates we're not supposed to (that didn't happen) or almost getting run off the road by drunken Indians (that didn't happen), or any of the other stupid things we have (not) done over the years?? We need to get fish n' chips at least one more time before you leave my Brother. I'll call you since I know you won't call me.

A friend of mine who is on a RTW motorcycle trip needs a place in San Diego to stay for Friday and Saturday nights. He'll be coming into town tomorrow late afternoon. He is getting his shock rebuilt by George Spinali on Saturday, and then leaves for Baja on Sunday. He goes by "Vicks" on ADV and is riding a KTM 530EXC-R that been highly modified. It's a sweet bike!! He's been staying with Radioman up in Long Beach for the past week and Mark assured me he was a pleasant and polite houseguest. If anyone has a room and can help out, please email me at dsbarb@gmail.com or call me tomorrow at 619=933-eight 6 three two. Thanks!!

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in April. Had surgery in May, sounds similar to yours. Cancer had spread to her first node (with extravation). She has had two rounds of chemo. The first was tough (AC) but doable. The second (Taxol) was, comparatively, a walk in the park. She finished that on November 9th. She started 5 1/2 weeks of radiation last Tuesday, so far so good. She should be done with radiation right after the first of the year. Hopefully, if all goes to plan, she'll have reconstruction next summer. It has been tough but manageable. She has developed a group of friends who are also going through treatment which has been a big help on the emotional side (since I'm pretty much a neanderthal). If you're curious about her path, you can check out her blog here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/tyebarber (You do have to register but it's no big deal or $) Please feel free to PM me if you have want to chat or want to speak with Tye! Best wishes for you!

Nah, I just like giving Roger grief.

How have I missed this?? I've even ridden with you and didn't know you had a build up thread. Looks great and great pictures by PMB. It does look dark blue though . . .

Where are the pictures?? You know you can't start a thread that includes, "I just picked up a ..." with out pictures!!!

Rode Kernan from the dirt road up to Four Corners a few weeks ago for the first time in a couple of years. It was a lot rockier than I remember it being and it was pretty chewed up. Had no trouble making it but was definitely surprised at how rocky it seemed. Maybe I remember it being smoother than it was . . . ?

Any idea whether this will impact the OHV riding area? -

Boston Mangler and I were up there with Big Bear Trail Riders for a nice 3 day weekend. What great riding! I'd never really ridden Big Bear before. -
A buddy of mine bought my old 1150GS Adventure and is is turning it into a hack too. Nothing as custom but cool nonetheless. July 31 set aside for your send off.

Does anyone know if there is going to be one of these classes in July. I've got my set up and want to learn how to use it. Thanks!

John's Shoe Repair in Clairemont. They've done my Aerostitch (Sidi) boots twice now, hiking boots, and friends who are in the military boots. They do great work for a reasonable price. 3007 Clairemont Drive, Suite H, San Diego, CA 92117 (619) 275-0100. They're in the Kiel's shopping center just up the hill from the 5. http://www.yelp.com/biz/johns-shoe-repair-san-diego

Sounds crazy, looking forward to the report! And I second Mimi's recommendation on the electrolytes!

Sounds like a fun ride with a good mix of trails.
